Bosnia and Herzegovina ratifies a series of major Council of Europe treaties

Strasbourg, 12.07.2002 - Ambassador Igor GAON, Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Council of Europe, today handed to Walter SCHWIMMER the instruments of ratification of the following texts:

• The Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (entry into force : immediate) 
• The Protocol No.1 (entry into force : immediate) 
• The Protocol No. 4, securing certain rights and freedoms other than those already included in the Convention and in the first Protocol thereto (entry into force : immediate) 
• The Protocol No. 6, concerning the Abolition of the Death Penalty (entry into force ; 01.08.2002) 
• The ProtocoleNo. 7 (entry into force : 01.10.2002) 
• The European Convention for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, as amended by its Protocols No. 1 and No. 2 (entry into force: 01.11.2002) 
• The European Charter of Local Self-Government (entry into force : 01.11.2002)
