Council of Europe Anti-Torture Committee publishes the
Belgian Government’s response to the
report on the April 2005 visit
Strasbourg - 21.11.2006 - The Council of Europe's Committee for the
Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) has
published today the response of the Government
of Belgium to the report on the CPT's most recent visit to that country, in
April 2005. The response has been made public at the request of the Belgian
authorities.
In its response, the Belgian Government highlights the numerous measures
taken by the authorities in response to the CPT’s recommendations, and gives
detailed information on a number of other issues raised by the Committee.
The CPT’s report on the April 2005 visit
was published on 20 April 2006.
